Walden International Looking to Sink $300 Million in VC Funds Into Taiwan
The US-based venture capital firm Walden International is looking to increase its investment in Taiwan, according to Digitimes in Taipei.
Digitimes quotes Walden managing director Brian Chiang who said that his company hoped to invest over $300 million in Taiwan in over the next twenty years. The investments would target integrated circuit (IC) design, reusable energy, the medical industry and the automotive industry.
Walden has long been involved in Taiwan, with an investment history dating back two decades. About 75% of their investments have been in the electronics and semiconductor industries. Walden has invested in 67 companies in the region.
