EU: Shoe Exporters Are Sidestepping Trade Tariffs
The European Commission said it believes that Chinese shoemakers are routing exports to Europe through Macau to avoid extra trade charges imposed last year. Since October, shoes from China have been charged an extra 16.5% of their value to compensate for below-cost imports being dumped on European markets, pushing down prices and taking market share from European shoemakers.
